How to get students to read World Literature
1. Have students read the abridged version on Spark Notes or any other study guide.
2. Have the students read the summary of the plot.
3. Have the students watch a movie clip of the literature in question.
4. Last but not least, have the student read the original
If
you follow these 4 steps, your students will not be discouraged and
complain to the teacher that the text was too hard to read or that the
translation was too ancient. My students love reading the abridged
version first, then reading the summary online, and then going to
Youtube to watch a movie clip of the literature.
