Different Kinds of Discussion Posts in Warnock's Book, Writing Together
In Scott Warnock's book, Writing Together, Ten Weeks Teaching and Studenting in an Online Writing Course, Warnock goes over many ways he interacts with students in the Discussion Forums. On average, he posts 3 different post threads a week so students can interact with each other to learn the core concepts of his writing class. You can read Scott's own blog entry on the topic of different kinds of Message Boards: http://onlinewritingteacher.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

I found out about these different forum threads as I read Warnock's book from cover to cover. I took note of each of the different forum activities Warnock had in his online writing class in my notebook. No, Warnock did not list his activities in this manner, but he did present what he did in his online writing class week by week in his forums for a 10 week period. He also interspersed his teaching best practices observations with reaction from a student who also commented on how she liked the class.
