Publish or Perish: Why I love blog writing

I work as a full time professor where I teach English composition for the most part.  As part of our job, we have to publish articles that show our expertise in our field every semester.  I love blog writing because instead of waiting weeks, months or even years to get published by a publishing company, I can instantly be published on my blog. Therefore, I started blog writing to fulfill that 'publish or perish' requirement.  I wish I had the time to write that book and get it published the traditional way but I have hundreds of papers to grade per year and thousands of forum posts to grade per year, so who has the time? 

However, I am hoping to self-publish someday.  In this blog, I  will write about issues touching on teaching.  Go to my previous blog to see my previous articles:

I will try to publish something at least once a month so that this blog does not get erased. I am avidly hoping for constructive comments on future teaching topics for my blog.
